Credit Treasury

Today, more than ever before, the capital market is the definitive source for determining the price of credit risks. The price that the capital market is willing to pay to transfer a risk position forms the primary basis for the originating loan as well as a bank's portfolio management.

Credit Treasury at Münchener Hypothekenbank serves as the central unit that interfaces between the credit and capital markets, and in this position ensures that the Münchener Hypothekenbank’s low-risk approach to business is rigorously implemented. In this function Credit Treasury is responsible for ensuring that risk transfers are handled efficiently by means of the deliberate transfer, as well as the acceptance of credit risks using credit and capital market instruments.

Within the scope of its activities Credit Treasury has responsibility for the following tasks:

  • Syndication / consortium financing: including the participation of the Münchener Hypothekenbank in domestic and foreign commercial property finance deals arranged by other banks as well as the participation of other banks in MünchenerHyp’s commercial property financing deals.
  • Investments in Mortgage Backed Securities
  • Portfolio transactions
  • Credit insurance/ credit securitisation for the Bank’s own portfolio
  • Co-lending programmes
